Professor April McMahon
Vice-President for Teaching, Learning and Students, University of Manchester
April has been Vice-President for Teaching, Learning and Students at the University of Manchester since October 2019. She previously held a number of leadership roles at the Universities of Edinburgh, Kent, Aberystwyth and Sheffield, following her first academic post at Cambridge. Her academic field is linguistics, particularly historical linguistics and accents and dialects of English and Scots. April is also a Fellow of the British Academy and the Learned Society of Wales.
