Professor Andrew Smith
Professor of Organic Chemistry, University of St Andrews
Professor Andrew Smith is a creative organic chemist with research interests in the development of new catalysis. Catalysis provides society with efficient industrial processes that minimise energy, waste and the formation of harmful by-products. Within this area, Andrew’s research uses catalysis to develop new routes to prepare materials that may have future medical and technological applications. He became Professor of Chemistry at the University of St. Andrews in 2012.
