Professor Allan MacInnes
Emeritus Professor of History, University of Strathclyde
Professor Allan Macinnes has published extensively on British state formation, Scottish Jacobitism and the Highland clans and clearances. He has broadcast on radio and TV on these topics, and also on the historical dimension to contemporary political, religious and cultural issues. Allan’s current research focuses on Enterprise, Empire and Enlightenment. Before his appointment at University of Strathclyde in 2007, he worked at the University of Glasgow and Aberdeen.
