Professor Albert Rodger has succeeded and excelled across a broad spectrum of academic activity. Albert first joined the University of Aberdeen in 1976 as Lecturer in Engineering and became Vice-Principal & Head of the College of Physical Sciences in 2003 before becoming Vice-Principal for External Affairs in 2010. After retiring in 2014, he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Science from the University of Aberdeen. Albert was a Visiting Professor at the University of Strathclyde until 2017 and was Chair and Board Member of the Scottish Funding Council’s Research and Knowledge Exchange Committee from 2010 – 2017. Industry-focussed awards include the John Logie Baird Award for Innovation and a Millennium Product Award.
