Professor A G Boyd Robertson
Chair, Highland NHS Board
Professor Robertson is an authority on Gaelic education with expertise in teacher education, curriculum development, lexicography and the production of language learning resources. A pioneer of Gaelic-medium education, he played leading roles in numerous Gaelic bodies and public agencies and is currently Chair of the NHS Highland Board.
He trained as a teacher and held senior posts at Oban High School, Jordanhill College and the University of Strathclyde before becoming Principal of the Gaelic College, Sabhal Mòr Ostaig UHI.
A native of North Uist and graduate of Aberdeen University, his services to education were recognised by the award of an Honorary Doctorate by the University of Edinburgh.
