Professor Peter Eric Linstead Clarke FRSE

Professor Peter Clarke is a physicist with research interests in the study of matter-anti-matter asymmetry and CP violation. Early research included the first direct measurements of CP violation in the Kaon system at CERN, and involvement in indirect searches for the Higgs boson, at Stanford (USA) and at CERN. He received a DPhil from the University of Oxford and was awarded a CERN Fellowship before joining the University of Brunel in 1987 and University College London in 1993. From 2001 to 2004 he was Head of UCL’s Particle Physics Research Group. He was appointed Chair of e-Science at the University of Edinburgh in 2004 and was Director of the National eScience Centre from 2006 to 2009. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Physics and the Institute of Engineering and Technology.
