Professor Paul Younger FREng FRSE

Rankine Professor of Engineering, University of Glasgow.

Paul Younger FREng has held the Rankine Chair of Engineering at the University of Glasgow since August 2012; he is also Professor of Energy Engineering. A hydrogeologist and environmental engineer, Paul has combatted pollution from the extractive industries and developed fresh approaches to the sustainable use of geo-energy. A serial academic entrepreneur, Paul has founded five companies and remains a Director of two, active in the water and energy sectors. He has published more 400 items in the international literature, and his most recent book – Energy: all that matters – was published by Hodder in November 2014.
