Professor Owen Sansom is a biomedical scientist and leader in the field of genetics and signalling in cancer. His research focuses on understanding the mutations that drive epithelial cancer, particularly colon and pancreatic cancer. Owen completed his BSc, MRes and PhD at the universities of Nottingham, Manchester and Edinburgh. After a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Cardiff, he joined the Beatson Institute for Cancer Research at the University of Glasgow in 2005. In 2011 Owen was appointed Deputy Director of the Institute, becoming Director in September 2017.
