Liz Lochhead is a Scottish poet who was the National Poet of Scotland from 2011 and 2016. Her poetry collections include Dreaming Frankenstein (1984), True Confessions and New Clichés (1985) and Bagpipe Muzak (1991). Alongside her career as a poet, she is also a successful playwright and many of her plays have been performed on BBC Radio 4. Liz received the Queen’s Gold Medal for Poetry in 2015 – the eleventh women to be awarded the prize and eighth Scot.
