Mr Richard Ovenden

Richard Ovenden is Bodley’s Librarian at the Bodleian Libraries, and Head of Gardens, Libraries, and Museums at the University of Oxford, and a Fellow of Balliol College. He is a leading figure in the world of libraries, archives and museums, especially in the fields of digital information management and digital preservation. His research focuses on the place of libraries, archives and museums in society, with a focus on the theory and practice of the preservation of knowledge over time. He also teaches and researches on the history of photography, especially as related to Scotland.
