The RSE Fellowship comprises around 1,800 leading experts in the sciences, arts, business, professions and the third and public sectors, with links to Scotland. This range of expertise within the Fellowship places us in a unique position to provide an informed, interdisciplinary response to issues facing Scotland and internationally.

Our Fellows from academia, business and public service are among the most distinguished in their fields. We engage and connect nationally and internationally to share knowledge and tackle the most pressing challenges of the modern world.

Mr Martin Gilbert
Chairman, Revolut Ltd
Martin Gilbert is a businessman who co-founded Aberdeen Asset Management in 1983. In August 2017, AAM merged with Standard Life to become Standard Life Aberdeen, one of the world’s largest investment companies. Martin is Co-Chief Executive of this new company and focuses on client relations and marketing. Alongside this, he is Deputy Chairman of Sky PLC and Independent Non-Executive Director of Glencore plc. He also sits on the board of the Institute of International Finance and International Advisory Board of British American Business. Martin is a member of the International Advisory Panel of the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
