Donald Macdonald has spent 45 years in corporate finance and investment and has been a Director and investor in a range of ventures in hotels and brewing, as well as engineering and newspapers. He is keenly interested in the performing and visual arts and for over 25 years has been Chairman of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra. Other board memberships also include Edinburgh College of Art and Edinburgh International Festival. Donald is Trustee of IMPACT, which is working to develop a new concert hall for Edinburgh, and established the University of Edinburgh’s Euan MacDonald Centre for MND Research. Spin-offs include Euan’s Guide (disability access reviews) and Speak:Unique, which creates bespoke synthesised voices for those who, through illness, have lost or are losing their voices.
