Mr David Greig
Artistic Director and joint Chief Executive, Lyceum Theatre
David Greig was born in Edinburgh, and spent much of his childhood in Jos, Nigeria. His first involvement with theatre was with the Edinburgh Youth Theatre, where he acted in a number of shows. In 1987, he went to Bristol University to study English and Drama. Since his first main stage production ‘Europe’ at The Traverse in 1996, his work has been produced and translated extensively abroad and has been performed at major theatres in Britain including the Royal Shakespeare Company, Royal National Theatre, Traverse Theatre and Royal Court Theatre. David has also worked as a workshop leader on projects to teach or develop playwriting, and has a particular relationship with writers in the Middle East. In 2015, David has been made Artistic Director and joint Chief Executive of the Royal Lyceum Theatre, Edinburgh.
