An expert on global climate change and the steps to decarbonise the UK and Scottish economies. Directed the independent analysis that led to the UK and Scotland’s Net Zero laws. A policy expert, with wide experience at the heart of Government in Whitehall and Holyrood.
Currently CEO of The Carbon Trust, a global climate advisory non-profit – advising corporates and governments on reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Formerly the UK’s Chief statutory climate adviser to Government and Parliament, as CEO of the UK Climate Change Committee. Have also worked in central positions in Scottish Government and in Whitehall, in the the UK Treasury.
Honorary Professor at the University of Glasgow’s Public Policy Unit. Member of the V&A Dundee Board. Founding Trustee of the Music and Arts Climate Charity, Murmur.
