Professor Linda Bauld combines her academic responsibilities with serving as Cancer Research UK’s Chair in Behavioural Research for Cancer Prevention. Her academic contributions include conducting studies on drug and alcohol use, inequalities in health, obesity and on smoking cessation and tobacco control. She led the first study on the UK’s national smoking treatment services and the world’s largest trial of financial incentives for smoking cessation in pregnancy. More recently, Linda has produced empirical research on tobacco harm reduction and the use of electronic cigarettes and advised governments across four continents on regulatory frameworks for the products.
