Retired from the Armed Forces as a Lieutenant General. Operational service in Northern Ireland, Balkans, West Africa and the Gulf. Main activity delivering communications and information systems along with electronic warfare support. Awarded CBE whilst commanding in the Balkans. Staff appointments included Chief of Staff of an armoured brigade; instructing on command and leadership; education and training from Sixth Form College to postgraduate level; responsibility for Army doctrine and development; and finally overall responsiblity for the Defence Medical Services during two wars. Latterly a mix of consulting in the Defence, IT and Health Areas with pro bono work at community and national levels.
