Professor Katherine Hawley is a philosopher working in metaphysics, theory of knowledge and philosophy of science. Within metaphysics, she investigates issues concerning time, identity and parthood, whilst reflecting on the relative roles of science and philosophy in this field. She published ‘How Things Persist’ in 2002, and is now studying the metaphysics of social groups. Her recent research focuses on trust and she published ‘Trust: A Very Short Introduction’ in 2012.
