Professor Kathryn M Rudy FRSE

Professor of Art History, University of St Andrews.

Professor Kathryn M Rudy is an art historian specialising in medieval manuscripts. She is the author of five books, including ‘Rubrics, Images and Indulgences in Late Medieval Netherlandish Manuscripts’ (Leiden: Brill, 2017); ‘Piety in Pieces: How Medieval Readers Customized their Manuscripts’ (Open Book Publishes, 2016); and ‘Postcards on Parchment: The Social Lives of Medieval Books’ (Yale University Press, 2015). She is a pioneer in forensic manuscript analysis and has invented new methods of investigation in this field. Kathryn is also a weaver and an innovator in the field of textiles.
