Professor Jose Cuminato is an applied mathematician with expertise in the numerical solution of integral equations and numerical simulation of free surface flows – also projection and fractional step methods in the simulation of incompressible flows and marker-and-cell methods for free surface flows. Jose received his BA and MSc in Mathematics from the University of Sao Paulo before studying at the University of Oxford to gain his MSc and DPhil in Numerical Analysis. In 1987 he returned to Sao Paulo and is currently Professor of Numerical Analysis as well as Visiting Professor at the University of Strathclyde.
