Professor John Iredale has been active in the field of fibrosis research for more than 20 years. He is interested in understanding the biology of fibrogenesis and its spontaneous remodelling, with the aim of establishing the attributes of effective and targeted antifibrotic therapies. John graduated from the University of Southampton as a Doctor of Medicine in 1995. Since then he’s had positions at Southampton General Hospital, Royal Victoria Hospital and Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, to name but a few. John spent 7 years at the University of Southampton before moving to the University of Edinburgh in 2005 to take up post as Professor of Medicine, where he was also Dean of Clinical Medicine. In 2016 John joined the University of Bristol as Pro Vice-Chancellor, Health.
