Senior Adviser, Oxford Martin School and Professor of Natural Resource Management, University of Oxford.

Sir John Beddington is an internationally recognised scientist. His main research interests are the application of biological and economic analysis to problems of natural resource management including inter alia, fisheries, pest control, wildlife management, the control of disease, agriculture and water management. After spending 20 years at the Imperial College London, John was appointed Government Chief Scientific Adviser in 2008 and became interested in global issues involving food, water and energy security and the ways these issues interact with that of climate change. He held this post until 2013. Currently, he is Senior Advisor to Oxford Martin School and Professor of Natural Resource Management at Oxford University.
