Professor Jin-Guang Teng received his BEng from Zhejiang University in 1983 and his PhD from the University of Sydney in 1990. His research has focused on understanding and modelling the behaviour of structures that incorporate fibre-reinforced polymer (FRP) composites and thin-walled structures. Many of his research findings have been directly adopted into the relevant design codes/guidelines in China as well as Australia, Europe, UK and USA. Jin-Guang received a State Natural Science Award of China in 2013 and the inaugural IIFC Medal from the International Institute for FRP in Construction (IIFC) in 2008 for his pioneering research in the area of FRP composites for construction. He was elected a Fellow of the Hong Kong Academy of Engineering Sciences in 2013.
