James Naughtie, special correspondent and books editor for BBC News, presented ‘Today on BBC Radio 4’ for 21 years. As a newspaper journalist he worked first for The Press and Journal, Aberdeen, then became Chief Political Correspondent of The Scotsman and The Guardian, and was Laurence M. Stern Fellow on The Washington Post. James has been Chancellor of the University of Stirling since 2008. Reflecting his interest in the arts, he is patron of Southbank Sinfonia and the Borders Book Festival, and a trustee of The Great Tapestry of Scotland and the Man Booker Prize. Publications include a history of classical music, two books on politics and two novels.
