Professor James Peter Chalmers FRSE

Regius Professor of Law, University of Glasgow.

Professor James Chalmers was appointed to his current position in 2012, having previously taught at the Universities of Aberdeen and Edinburgh. He is a graduate of the University of Aberdeen and the Tulane University of Louisiana. His research spans a broad area of criminal law and criminal justice, and he is currently working (with colleagues from the Universities of Glasgow and Warwick and Ipsos MORI Scotland) on a two-year study of jury decision making in criminal cases, funded by the Scottish Government.
