Prior to retirement in 2008, Professor Ian Wall was CEO of the EDI Group, a property development and investment company responsible for a wide range of commercial and residential projects across the central belt. He is Chair of the Science Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Education Committee (STEM) advising the Scottish Government on all aspects of STEM education and serves on numerous Boards including the Court of Heriot Watt University and the International Science Festival (which he is the founder). Ian is also a Patron of WASPS. Past appointments include Chair of the Scottish Poetry Library, Trustee of Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh, and Board Member of International Centre for Mathematical Sciences. Finally, he is a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors and an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland.
