Professor Yvette Taylor FRSE

Professor of Education, University of Strathclyde

Yvette Taylor is Professor of Education, University of Strathclyde, and has acted as Deputy Head, Research Director, and Head of the Weeks Centre for Social and Policy Research. Her research advances social justice for marginalised communities, particularly working-class and LGBTQ+ people, through internationally funded scholarship and sustained public engagement. She authored Working-Class Queers: Time, Place and Politics (Pluto, 2023) and edited Queer in a Wee Place: Small Nations, Sexuality and Scotland (Bloomsbury, 2026). Her work includes an EU-Norface grant on LGBTQ+ life-course inequalities across Europe and service as a Scottish Parliamentary Fellow, shaping policy debate and inclusive practice.
