Professor Sarah Gurr FRSE

Sarah Gurr’s research focuses on fungal diseases of crops, the movement of fungi in the face of climate change, and on disease control. Her work spans the scales of sizes – from fungal cell and molecular biology to predictive modelling of fungal infestations across the globe. She has authored or co-authored many high-profile papers, including in Science and Nature, articles in the popular press and holds several patents. Her work includes contributions to recent Government Foresight reports, advising on the UK Plant Health strategy, and the Gene Editing for Crops bill.
