Professor Ruth Andrew FRSE

Personal Chair of Pharmaceutical Endocrinology, University of Edinburgh

Ruth Andrew is an academic pharmacist at the University of Edinburgh whose research career has advanced understanding of how stress hormones influence health outcomes in later life. Ruth has led novel applications of analytical chemistry, particularly mass spectrometry, to understand complexities of human health and disease. She is Dean of Post-graduate Research in the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine, enhancing opportunity and experience for the next generation of research leaders. Ruth holds/has held key roles in academic publishing (Co-Editor-in-Chief Journal of Endocrinology/Molecular Endocrinology), Learned Societies (Society for Endocrinology General Secretary) and UK and international grant awarding bodies.
