Long career in the private, public, and third sector. Worked for or ran companies in pharmaceuticals, consumer flooring, industrial textiles, data exchange, banking and financial services, regulatory bodies and foreign currency. Have worked with and for UK, Northern Irish and Scottish Government at home and overseas mainly in economic development but also in fraud and process management. Have also advised Scottish Government on regulation. Honorary Professor of the University of Glasgow. Have been an associate Professor at Boston University board member of the Business School at Georgia Southern University. Awarded an OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list in 2008.
