Professor Paul Dourish IntFRSE
Chancellor’s Professor and Steckler Endowed Chair in Information and Computer Science, University of California, Irvine
Educated at the University of Edinburgh, Paul Dourish holds the Steckler Endowed Chair of Information and Computer Science at the University of California, Irvine.
In addition to Computer Science, his research draws on sociology, anthropology, and cultural studies to study the influence of digital data and computing on society, and vice versa.
He is the author of three books and over 100 scholarly articles on these topics.
He has been awarded the ACM SIGCHI Award for Lifetime Achievement in Research, and is a Fellow of the ACM and of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
