Professor Mehul Malik is Royal Academy of Engineering Chair in Emerging Technologies and Director of the Beyond Binary Quantum Information (BBQ) Lab at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh. A world-leading researcher in the field of quantum technologies, Mehul’s achievements include the creation of the most complex forms of entanglement, its transport through extreme regimes of noise and loss, and the development of a new architecture for multimode quantum circuits. His research plays a pivotal role in the development of high-capacity and noise-robust quantum communication networks. Mehul is a diligent advocate for the international mobility of researchers and increasing diversity in STEM.
