Professor David Price FRSE
Professor of Developmental Neurobiology, University of Edinburgh
BSc (Edinburgh), MBChB (Edinburgh), DPhil (Oxford)
Worked at Oxford University, University of California at Berkeley, Edinburgh University (current)
Professor Price’s research explores how the brain develops in health and disease. He has studied how cells of the correct types are made in the right numbers, how they move to their final locations, how they become connected to each other and how mutations affect these processes. His teaching has focused on postgraduate education and training and has included the publication of two textbooks on brain development. His public outreach has involved collaborations with Edinburgh College of Art and the organisation and presentation of events addressing the history of neuroscience.
