Professor Christopher Dibben FRSE
Chair in Health Geography, University of Edinburgh
Chris Dibben is Professor of Health Geography at the University of Edinburgh, directing the Scottish Centre for Administrative Data Research and the Longitudinal Studies Centre Scotland. His research integrates spatial epidemiology, advanced statistical modelling and securely linked census, health and administrative datasets to quantify how environmental exposure and social structures such as, air quality, housing, urban form, sunlight, effect health. He has helped develop national deprivation indices and methods for small-area estimation and policy evaluation. His program delivers policy-relevant, place-based evidence for public health and planning, enabling targeted prevention and monitoring of inequalities across the life course and regions.
