Mr Gavin Reid FRSE

Chief Executive, Scottish Chamber Orchestra

Gavin Reid is Chief Executive of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra. A graduate of the Royal Northern College of Music and Guildhall School of Music and Drama, he initially developed a career performing and teaching before moving into orchestral management. For ten years he was Director of the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra. Governance roles have included the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, RCS Trusts, Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, IMPACT Scotland and the Association of British Orchestras where he served as Chair. He is a Fellow of the RCS and Clore Leadership Programme and was appointed Lieutenant of the Royal Victorian Order in 2024.
