Dr David Rae FRSE

Director, Stanley Smith (UK) Horticultural Trust

Dr David Rae is a leading botanic garden curator and highly respected member of the horticultural profession. He joined the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh in 1979, and was appointed Director of Horticulture in 2000, before leaving in 2014. From 1996 until 2006, he was the UK representative on the European Botanic Garden Consortium and is a former Honorary President of PlantNetwork – the Plant Collections Network of Britain and Ireland. David is currently Director of Stanley Smith (UK) Horticultural Trust which assists in the creation, development, preservation of gardens accessible to the public.
