Baroness Wendy Alexander’s career spanned government, elected office, higher education and international consultancy. A former leader of the Scottish Labour Party, and MSP (1999-2011) she served in the first three Scottish Cabinets. After leaving politics she worked in international education on the leadership team at London Business School and the University of Dundee. She served as Scottish International Trade Envoy for higher education and Chair of THE’s International Education Advisory Board. She is currently Vice Chair, British Council, Chair of the Electrotechnical sector’s Joint Industry Board and entered the House of Lords in 2025
