Professor Duncan Henry Pritchard FRSE

UC Distinguished Professor of Philosophy, University of California, Irvine.

Prior to taking up his current position, Professor Duncan Pritchard was Professor of Philosophy at the University of Stirling. His main research topic is epistemology with a particular focus on the problem of scepticism. Duncan has published many books including ‘Scepticism: A Very Short Introduction’ (Oxford UP, 2019), ‘Epistemic Angst: Radical Skepticism and the Groundlessness of Our Believing’ (Princeton UP, 2015) and ‘What is this Thing Called Knowledge?’ (Routledge, 2006). In 2007 he was awarded the Philip Leverhulme Prize.
