Dame Seona Reid

Dame Seona Reid is an arts administrator whose previous roles include Director of Scottish Arts Council (1990 – 1999) and Director of Glasgow School of Art (1999 – 2013). She now has a portfolio of non-executive roles including Chair of National Theatre of Scotland and the British Council Scottish Advisory Committee; Trustee of Tate Gallery, Wasps Artist Studios and the Edinburgh International Summit Foundation. Recently she has chaired Cove Park Artist Residency Centre, was Deputy Chair of the National Lottery Heritage Fund and Chair of the Scotland Committee, and was Scotland’s Commissioner on the UK-US Fulbright Commission. Seona’s interests include arts, heritage, education, funding, public and third sector policy. She is also an advocate for equality and diversity, particularly relating to gender and sexual orientation. She became a Dame in the 2014 New Year Honours for services to the Creative Industries.
