Dame Carol Ann Duffy

Dame Carol Ann Duffy is one of Britain’s most distinguished poets. She was appointed Poet Laureate of the United Kingdom in 2009 on a fixed 10-year term, the first woman, openly LGBT person, and Scot to hold the position. She is currently Professor of Contemporary Poetry & Creative Director of the Manchester Writing School, Vice-President of the Poetry Society and an Arts Council Awards judge. She became a Dame in the 2015 New Year Honours.
