Professor Brian Walker’s clinical practice is in adult endocrinology and he is an active innovator in medical education and academic training. His research concerns the role of glucocorticoid (stress steroid) hormones in obesity and cardiovascular disease and spans from bench to bedside. Before he was appointed Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Research Strategy and Resources at Newcastle University, Brian was Professor of Endocrinology and Head of the BHF Centre for Cardiovascular Science at the University of Edinburgh.
