Anne Richards graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a BSc (Hons) in Electronics and Electrical Engineering in 1985 and began working as a Research Fellow at CERN. Since then she has focused on investment banking, although retains an interest in technology and fundamental science. Anne was appointed CEO of M&G Investments in 2016 after 13 years as CEO of Aberdeen Asset Management. In July 2018, she left this role to become Chief Executive Officer of Fidelity International. Previous non-executive positions include Director of Esure Group Plc and Scottish Chamber Orchestra. She is currently Vice Convener of the University of Edinburgh and Chair of the CERN & Society Foundation.
