Future of Scottish Agriculture Post-Brexit

The RSE has responded to the House of Commons Scottish Affairs Committee’s Inquiry into the Future of Scottish Agriculture post-Brexit.

Working with the devolved administrations, the UK Government needs to set out a fair and transparent funding arrangement for agricultural support post-Brexit which takes account of Scotland’s needs. It is important that the need to provide funding stability to farmers and land managers in the short term is balanced with the requirement to set a longer-term reform agenda for the future of land use and rural development in Scotland. The RSE supports the development of a new rural policy framework for Scotland.
