Proposals for a wildlife management (Grouse) bill
The Royal Society of Edinburgh welcomed the opportunity to respond to the Scottish Government’s consultation on the Wildlife Management (Grouse) Bill (introduced as the Wildlife Management and Muirburn (Scotland) Bill on 21 March 2023).
As our letter response indicates, the RSE supports the introduction and enforcement of robust measures to ensure grouse shooting is managed in a way that is compatible with wider environmental protection aims, as outlined by the Werritty report chaired by Professor Alan Werritty FRSE
